TheWoWDBFor those confused as to how to complete this quest, follow these steps:
1) Take the hippogryph ride that is at the quest giver.
- This hippogryph becomes active from accepting the quest The Rift Between at 31.4, 23.2 nearby the Moon Guard Stronghold.2) Once you arrive, kill basically anything (Except for the huge group of troops that are summoned out of portals and march down the path).
3) Upon killing and looting these mobs, you will occasionally receive the item, [item=133957].
4) Once you have received 10 of these fragments, right click on the fragments inside of your inventory to create [item=133956], the item required for this quest.

The way this quest works seems to have changed since 7.2. I have run through this quest line once before 7.2 and once after. In pre-7.2, like many others who have commented here, I had 10x [item=133957] in my bags and just needed to combine them in order to get the completion and move on to the next step (hippogryph ride). This time, I didn't receive any [item=133957] drops. Instead, I received a whole [item=133956] as a drop from one of the mobs on the platform below (down the stairs from) the quest giver, where all the hippogryphs are fighting with Nightborne. I didn't need to combine anything. The instant the item dropped, it triggered the completion prompt.
TL;DR If you don't have any [item=133957] fragments in your bags at all, and are wondering what all these commenters are talking about, go down the stairs from the quest giver and kill Nightborne mobs until you get a [item=133956] and a completion prompt.

Description
My injuries will not kill me, but I cannot fight. I have my own idea of how to deal with the remaining Nightborne. They destroyed our defense matrix as soon as they arrived. Surely one of them carries the spell focus necessary to reactivate it. Find it, then go to a hippogryph. They linger throughout the Stronghold. These loyal beasts will take you to the skies and take care of the rest.
