A few notes.
This quest is only available before the battle for Light's Chapel begins, and it is available every 10 minutes or so. If you miss it the first time wait around for a few and it will become available again. If you ride into battle without the quest return to the mill to get the quest. You CAN NOT leave the starting zone without completing this quest.
It is also important to get back to the mill rather quickly, once the DKs that had the quest begin to disappear run back to the mill. Soon after that the members of the light will again become hostile.
Other than that this is just a fun story quest. You become immensely powerful for a short period of time, so have fun watching the big numbers go up. The story bit is long but entertaining, although you can only tell what is going on if you have the quest.
After this quest is completed when returning Ebon Hold will no longer be the domain of the Lich King.
Both weapon rewards are good, and it really depends on what you plan to do. The sword is great for Blood, and the axe is better for tanking/frost due to the higher stamina.

Description
The Argent Dawn stands defiantly against us at Light's Hope Chapel. They dare oppose the Scourge and for that reason alone they must be destroyed! The mighty armies of the Lich King stand at the ready as the final battle for the Plaguelands approaches. Today we ascend into the immortal realm of Scourge heroes! When you are ready for battle, report to Highlord Darion Mograine. It is the highlord who will issue the final march orders and command our armies at Light's Hope Chapel.
