The Only Way Past Is Through

The Only Way Past Is Through is a quest for level 36-80 in The Waking Shores. It is step 11 of 13 in The Chieftain's Duty storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in The Waking Shores at 53.9, 41.3. It rewards 9,500 experience and money.

Description

Unujaak told you to come, didn't he? He was the one who helped me find Ipko when I became a hunter--or, rather, helped Ipko find me. They choose and we are chosen.

He is hurting. Everyone is hurting because of me. I know that they need me to lead, but I have been half of a leader without her. If I couldn't protect her, how can I protect all of Uktulut?

<He takes a deep breath.>

I cannot forgive myself. But I cannot let that weight keep me from putting at least one foot on the path I must walk.

If you are blind like me and wonder how to combine the lure - there is an extra action button you have to use

If you should not see the button you can

  • go into edit mode and see if you moved it somewhere inconvenient or

As a fellow hunter, this one hit home for me. I went through numerous pets up through WotLK, never fully understanding what each was best for. I only started two weeks before BC dropped, so I had a lot of catching up to do, thus I wasn't able to spend a lot of time in each expansion and learn all of the secrets. It wasn't until the very beginning of Cata that I learned of the Northrend Spirit Beasts, most notably, Loque'nahak. I spent hours searching for her and finally found her one day, tamed her and have kept her as my companion ever since. I have a couple other pets for utility reasons, but Loque'nahak has been my companion since the early days of Cata. Always by my side, never replaced.

May your hunts never end and may your companions always bestride with you.

    This did not need to happen. Those cowardly djaradin... slaughtering our ottuks and leaving them for their twisted beasts to pick clean... I do not take Tutaqan's grief lightly, but I worry for the future of our people if he dwells in darkness and grief for too long. We need to act.
