There's a degree of phasing problems in this area due to a world quest that takes place in the area; if the WQ is up, complete it and then relog to get the Tainted Centurion Components to drop.

Mikanikos disappeared for me after completing the quests. (there's no world quest up)
Relogging managed to phase him in so I could turn them in.

For some reason, I was not able to use [item=174465] from the side quest bar. I had to use it from my inventory and it worked just fine. Posting this here just in case anyone runs into the same problem.
Stand on the south side of the forge to use [item=174465] to smelt the metal

Description

Building something that can help in your mission will require some metal. The constructs of the Forsworn have metal parts, suitable for what we need. Tainted by the Forsworn, they will need some additional work. Collect their metal and smelt them in the flames of the Eternal Forge to purge the corruption.
