hethey first referenced that the letter was for "her."It didn't click with me until Sedona said "Did he also wake you to thistle tea?" that Hieron and Astre ended up together after Hieron took up the Void.
edit: As a follow-up, I went back to visit Sedona later, and she referred to Astre as "he - sorry, they".
Very nice quest that shows some of the more everyday/realistic sides of life in chaos that is Azeroth.

One of the side chats in the zone explicitly says that he and Astre loved each other. One of the best side quests of the expansion for me.

Description
There is one unresolved matter... <Astre reaches into their pocket and reveals the worn letter you had unpackaged alongside Hieron's journal. They run their fingers over it with a pensive expression.> Hieron wanted her to have it. She should know what happened to him. This is on me. Silvermoon again... Guess I'll see you when I'm back, {name}.
