No... it cannot be.
Orsis is all but buried beneath the desert sands.
The enemy will pay for this.
But first we must aid my people. Quick, <name>. We do not have much time before the last of my brethren are buried alive!

You can be mounted as you rescue them.
They will be half-buried in the sand and if you have names of NPC's on they will be "Green". When I was doing this quest, there was so much competition that I couldn't find anyone to save and was confused about what I was looking for...so just wait and they will enventually show up.
From a story point of view, its kind of funny that you are only allowed to save precisely 8. The rest of them still display as dying in the sand, but you are not allowed to save them anymore :)
| Type | Reward | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Experience | XP | 4,800 |
| Money | Gold | 13g 74s |
| Reputation | Ramkahen | +250 |
The cat-like people of Ramkahen are the descendants of the Tol'vir, guardians of Uldum. Though they've lost their stone bodies, protecting the secrets of the titans is still a part of their rigid tradition.
Reputation group: Cataclysm.
Other quests in Uldum that reward Ramkahen reputation: Minions of Al'Akir (+250), The Prophet Hadassi (+75), The Prophet's Dying Words (+75), Colossal Guardians (+250), Send Word to Phaoris (+150), The Vizier's Vote (+75).

Listen, <name>. What struck Orsis was no natural sandstorm. It was the minions of Al'Akir. The elemental lord of air is firmly allied with Deathwing and it was only a matter of time before he set his subjects upon my people. Orsis has been attacked as a warning to us.
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
Al'Akir has sent his minions to do Deathwing's bidding. The message is clear. We join them or they destroy us. I do not know much about you, <race>. But I do know this. If you prove yourself to be an enemy of Al'Akir's, your aid will not go unnoticed. What do you say, <class>?
