Balargarde will have no choice but to face you. And I... excuse me, Vardmadra will be there to adjudicate the challenge.

This quest may bug out if you're high level and one-shot Overthane Balargarde. (Note: this is not the bug about not being able to blow the horn.)
If you one-shot Balargarde, he'll drop to 1 HP and the Lich King will appear; the scene plays out, and Balargarde will recommence fighting you, using whirlwind. He will, however, whirlwind in a random direction away from you, and then he and all other NPCs will fade, and the quest resets (you can blow the horn again to restart the quest).

To avoid this, let Balargarde fight you until he uses whirlwind. Let him finish his whirlwind, then kill him (one-shot or not). In that case, after the Lich-King scene, he'll not start with whirlwind, and he won't disappear: you can finish him normally, and the quest completes.
