Since this is the top comment here, there's some clarification to add: This only applies if you're on foot. Do it mounted and you will have plenty of time to turn and line up each time. Be in a party and you can use raid markers, or World Quest List addon (and probably others) have a helper module to make it easier.

And I thought I hated Beachhead...
I struggled with this mightily. Then I learned you could do this mounted. This helped, but I was still failing, until I went clockwise as opposed to anti-clockwise as the last 2 legs of the rectangle have really good markers. This way, I could trace the first two legs while the shimmer was still present.
