The bug seems to revolve around the squids. They are somehow tied to the boss. So, if this quest bugs on you and the boss keeps resetting, kill whatever squid adds are engaged in combat, and then kill the boss. This fixed the problem to me on several characters I've done this on.

Hopefully, this bug is fixed by the next time this quest is offered.

I would encourage players to avoid this WQ. The fight is in a high mob density area, the turret-like things in the area make preparation and group-finding difficult, and the opaque combat mechanics of the fight itself will generally cause formed groups to dissipate after the first or second wipe. In my experience, the ground in the area is littered with skeletons.
