It's like my character has forgotten every single encounter they've ever had with a murloc.
Unlike with other escort quests, you don't need to run along on the ground. You can just use your flightmaster's whistle and fly back to Mezzamere. Then stand on /way 38.6, 52.9 (Alliance) to complete it.
If you don't have coords, go to the path between the portal and the profession trainers, where you would have had to run through if you hadn't flown. This triggers the quest recognizing you came to town with the murloc.
