So he's saying that 'Gj' is pronounced as 'Sh.' But, if he's having an actual spoken conversation, the listener would be oblivious of the 'Gj' spelling. If one actually said this, they would pronounce it correctly and explain the spelling, rather than spell it correctly and explain the pronunciation.
Unless, that's how Wow characters actually communicate... imagine someone walking up to you and, rather than hearing a voice, a block of text suddenly appears in your face.
I was wondering how some of these towns were pronounced. A quest dialogue finally tells you! Not that most people read quest dialogue.

What to do
Description
And now we have a different problem. My scouts that have lived to return have informed me that the vrykul are up to no good at their main fortress to the north. They call the place Gjalerbron, though you'd pronounce the 'Gj' as if it were an 'Sh'. Odd creatures. But that's not important; what is, is that you get up there and put an end to the lives of as many of those creatures as you can while trying to figure out what they're up to. I know that I can count on you, {name}.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- All Hail the Conqueror of Skorn!
We -- well, you -- have done everything that we were sent here to accomplish sir. I must say that it's been a pleasure taking orders from such a fine, young <race>. The captain is sure to want to hear of your success, but if you decide to stay out here for whatever reason, I am at your disposal.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Of Keys and Cages
The captain may not care, but from the little we know, the vrykul are conducting heinous rites in some sort of 'awakening' ritual up north in Gjalerbron. They're using living sacrifices to fuel their unholy rituals! <class>, you must put a stop to this!
