Demon in Disguise

Demon in Disguise is a group quest for level 45 in Deadwind Pass. It is step 11 of 14 in the Return to Karazhan storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dalaran at 47.8, 50.1. It rewards 775 experience and money.

Description

While you were... working your magic on that demon, I was able to make headway in distilling the corrupted essences down to a simpler, more manageable form.

I've asked Khadgar to provide you with the concoction once he's had a look, but I must remind you - these essences are quite potent, often dangerous if not handled with the utmost of care.

Speak with Khadgar when you are ready to begin.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Before this quest

Thought CollectionDeadwind Pass · Level 45
While I examine these samples further, I ask that you seek out one of our patrols in the structure to the north. It appears they've captured one of the demons. Go, interrogate it. Find out anything you can. And hurry! I'm afraid time is no longer an ally.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

The Power of CorruptionDeadwind Pass · Level 45
The time has come at last. Deep within the cavernous underbelly of Karazhan lies a long-forgotten chamber. Based on what you learned from our demon friend, I believe this is where its mistress dwells. This demon's master must come from the highest ranks of the Burning Legion.
