From the looks of it you don't gain credit for this quest if you use the chain while mounted on your seahorse, I tried 6 times and didn't get credit, then once I dismounted and tried again I completed the quest. this might be a coincidence, but can try it if this quest is bugging for you.

Description

If ol' Gnaws had heels he'd be on 'em right now. Fortunately for you, I think like a shark. Gnaws is mad as all get out and we're gunna use that to our advantage. Here, I found this chain while out treasure-huntin'. Use it to tie off to that harpoon gun. When Gnaws sees ya he'll be consumed with rage - that's when we strike! You try to finish him off and I'll sneak in there and grab the shiney. Hurry, {class}, before he grows them teeth back!

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Shark WeakKelp'thar Forest · Level 30-35

That's one tough shark! You determine that it's in everyone's best interest to try and distract Budd and hope his attention never returns to Gnaws and this Skeletal Reef. Perhaps the teeth of the beast will prove captivating enough...

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Bone to PickKelp'thar Forest · Level 30-35

We did it! Gnaws is down, and I have our shiney! That's good news. Darn shiney is cursed treasure - makes everyone who touches it a skeleton. That's bad news. These cursed pirates say the Gilblin King has the secret to remove the hex. That's good news.
