Haaaa figured it out. I think it has to do something with having a main and alt and this new entire campaign skip. I had to go back to my main who didn't do teh side quests in ringing deeps, and I was able to start the Put on a good face chain with Moira and Berrund, which led to Fearbreaker and the cave. No idea why my alt warlock couldn't get this quest chain, but my main could, even after doing the entire campaign. Very wacky stuff going on this expac with all this campaign skip.

I completed the zone and all the side quests, and confirmed that the Fearbreaker quest was complete as well but I didn't get the achievement. I had to go back to Moira in Gundargaz to turn in The Bronzebeard Legacy. That finally completed the Fearbreaker achievement and Sojourner of the Ringing Deeps.

What to do

StorylineFearbreaker, step 10 of 11
Rewards57g 86s, 12,400 XP

Description

The skardyn have taken over the operations here in the Rumbling Wastes. That's why Berrund thought he needed Fearbreaker. We're going to finish that job before I take the hammer back to Magni. What kind of a queen would I be if I wasn't willing tae put myself in danger for the good of others? Let's get in there and save as many as we can.

<Berrund the Gleaming coughs dustily.> I knew I couldn't take the skardyn without some help. I thought, if I just had that magic hammer, then nothing would stop me. I had to have it, you see, or else, maybe I wasn't who I was made to be. But it kept slipping out of my fingers.

Well, we did what we set out tae do... and more. We found Fearbreaker and did some good with it. Now it's time tae bring it back tae Magni. Let's hope Berrund learned a lesson here, but I suspect he'll manage tae get himself in trouble again soon.
