If you see a group of [npc=249572] to the right after talking to [npc=249566] and accepting the assignment, do not walk over and kill them! Stand next to [npc=249566] and wait for them to come over. I got stuck in an infinite loop of mobs only spawning there and not making any progress. After killing some adds on the right, some will come from straight ahead, and eventually a [npc=249574] will come running in from the left. Killing the [npc=249574] will complete the quest and make it ready to turn in.

I had the exact same thing happen - thank goodness for your comment! I ran away, let the quest reset, told him I was ready and then stayed right next to him. There's an initial wave of 3 diseased flayers, then a second round with more flayers and a big guy, and then finally a third wave with the really big dude.

What to do

StorylineSaltheril's Haven, step 3 of 75
Rewards30g 98s, 11,750 XP

Description

There is still a lot of friction on the border with Zul'Aman, but we must hold the watch on all fronts. Check in with Bloodguard Nelric at the Thalassian Pass. It is rumored to be one of the most uneventful posts. I am certain he would appreciate a reprieve, if only for a few moments. Stay alert, {name}!

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Hitting the HammerEversong Woods · Level 80-90

The Twilight Hammer is dirtying up the ruins of Zeb'tala. Clean up the area and bring back some of their personal tokens. One never knows what curiosities may appeal to those vying for relevancy. Those mindless cultists may stomp around and act tough, but you will make quick work of them.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Naga BladesEversong Woods · Level 80-90

It seems the locals currently find great appeal in naga blades--the brinier the better. On our southwestern shore, you will find the Daggerspine naga. They have these grungy, barnacle-encrusted scimitars that would perfectly fit the bill. Go grab a few of those.
