Nature vs. Nurture

Nature vs. Nurture is a quest for level 10-45 in Highmountain. It is step 4 of 6 in the Murky Waters storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Highmountain at 42.7, 10.9. It rewards 6,150 experience and money.

Description

I appreciate murloc-kind far too much to tell you to go kill all the adults.

What we should be doing is setting up the next generation to be more peaceful; Murky is the best representative for this.

Bring him to talk to the murloc tadpoles. He'll get them on our side.

When the legion invasion is on in High Mountain the mobs here do not spawn. After the invasion they will pop back up.

Very annoying but at least this may save you some time trying to find tadpoles!

*EDIT*
Still the same for Legion Remix Oct 2025

Yup, still the same issue. There is an invasion so there are no mobs here at all except for the roaming "crab rider" rare. You can do the two Murky quests just fine and you can easily go around and complete the zone event just by looting supply crates, but this quest and everything that comes after it will have to wait until the legion assault is over.

Glad I read the comments here before I opened a useless GM ticket.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Slime TimeHighmountain · Level 10-45

Murky's a growing boy, he needs to eat! What better than slimeweed for a young murloc? There's plenty of it around in the water amongst the murlocs; swim through it and feed Murky!

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Murlocs: The Next GenerationHighmountain · Level 10-45

The time has come! Murky and his followers need a place to hide out and train--away from the mature murlocs--so that they can prepare to take over in the future. There's a nice cave not too far away... only problem is that it's filled with makrura. This would be a good base for the tadpoles.
