Vagash no longer does that frost breath attack. He now does a Frost Nova type of spell. Also, you don't need to go up the path to get to him. From the left side of the porch, facing the house, look slightly to your left. You'll see a small incline going up the hill. There is a tree there. Run up that part of the hill, behind the tree. Once you're past it, turn around and run up another incline and you'll be right at the cliffs edge where Vagash's cave is. This saves time from having to run around the mountain.

As a Rogue I was able to kite him down the mountain using my throwing weapon and gouge when he got close, when you reach the bottom of the mountain there is an Dun Morogh Mountaineer who will kill him for you. Be careful, and it takes a lot of patience, but he is soloable.

What to do

StorylineDun Morogh, step 15 of 30

Description

We heard the cries in the middle of the night. Then this morning, sure enough, the herd was missing two rams. That dastardly beast known as Vagash has been preying on our livelihood. With Ironforge's troops already spread thin, there is no one to keep Vagash at bay. Perhaps you are brave enough to seek out the beast and slay him. Bring me one of his fangs and I will reward you. Vagash lurks just above the ranch here, but be warned, he is deadly.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • It's Raid Night Every NightDun Morogh · Level 1-30

The reports I'm sending Captain Tharran can't really convey the amount of trouble the Frostmanes have created for us. Your assault on the village has started to relieve some of the pressure. The raids are still frequent, but the trolls don't have the numbers they once did.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Rams on the LamDun Morogh · Level 1-30

The rams we raise and train here at Amberstill ranch have long been the mounts of choice for Dun Morogh's mountaineers. Aye, there're a few here, but not enough to guard my family and all the animals.
