Quest Log

Forced to Watch from Afar

Forced to Watch from Afar is an Alliance-only quest for level 1-30 in Dun Morogh. It is step 6 of 30 in the Dun Morogh storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dun Morogh at 53.7, 52.2. It rewards 2 reputation rewards, 4,100 experience and money.

Description

The cataclysm drove the troggs to the surface in hordes, forcing the Frostmane trolls to flee for their lives. Unfortunately, they've decided to settle right on our doorstep and make trouble for us.

I deployed Mountaineer Dunstan and his squad to the Grizzled Den just southwest of town to keep an eye on the wendigos that live there, but now I need to recall them to Kharanos. Find them and tell them to deploy those remote observation bots the gnomes provided, then return to Kharanos.

Ok to clear up all confusion the Mountaineers are all in the Grizzled Den Cave. One is straight ahead one to the right and up in hill towards the back of the cave. If you have the quest also to pick up the crates you can do it here as well.

In Kharanos, behind the dwelling that houses the armorsmiths (53:50), there is a slope that goes down to the Grizzled Den (49:52). The Mountaineers are spread out along the path through the cave.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

Culling the WendigosDun Morogh · Level 1-30
The wendigos in the Grizzled Den to the southwest of town have long been a thorn in our side. They're never quite strong enough to threaten Kharanos directly, yet they prey on travelers, mountaineer patrols, and supply convoys.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

Operation RecombobulationDun Morogh · Level 1-30
I should go back to Gnomeregan and continue researching a cure for irradiated gnomes. But, I stayed behind in Kharanos because the town is my home and I wanted to help defend it from the Frostmane attacks. I've been working on maintaining and repairing the steam tanks.
