This quest got bugged for me in The War Within. At first try there was no button on my bar that I could spam to trample them. Then I figured out that it's because I've put a spell on the same button (number 1). So I got off the boar, removed the spell from number 1, and tried it again. The trample button appeared, but pressing 1 didn't activate it. You actually have to click it...

I spent hours trying to get the 1h axe ([item=175161]) and the quest page says you get it in a specific spec, but at the point you finish this quest you aren't able to pick a spec yet (and ofc you can't even go to this zone and get the quest with a DK or DH). What you can do is change loot spec, wich still does not guarantee what the info on wowhead suggests, so here are the results of the classes I have tried, partially with and w/o setting loot spec:
Alliance (Ride of the Scientifically Enhanced Boar)
Rogue, depending on loot spec: [item=175171] or [item=175173]
Shaman, depending on loot spec: [item=175173] or [item=175167]
Warrior, depending on loot spec: [item=175170] or [item=175173] or [item=175166]
Paladin, depending on loot spec: [item=175170] or [item=175173] or [item=175166]
Monk, depending on loot spec [item=175170] or [item=175173] or [item=175168] or [item=175167]Which means I cannot think of a way that an Alliance player will be able to get [item=175161] AT ALL. :(
Horde (The Re-Deather)
Shaman, depending on loot spec: [item=175173] or [item=175167] and finally [item=175161] in enhancement spec, which DOES NOT unlock a 1h axe for Alliance.
In the PTR I had the quest bug, and I could not press the trample button.
I was able to get it working after dropping and re-accepting the quest.

What to do
Description
We don't know how long the re-sizing will last, so let's get moving. You're going to ride this giant boar and mow down the army of undead between us and Wrathion. The large ones are pulsing with shadow magic. If you kill them, I bet it they'll take out any enemies near them. Let's hope Wrathion is willing to help us find Kalecgos.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Re-sizing the Situation
The Re-Sizer v9.0.1 barely works on inanimate objects. I have no idea what it will do to organic matter! But if we do nothing, Wrathion will die! Desperate times call for massively experimental science, <name>. Take the Re-Sizer v9.0.1. I'll follow you around and calibrate it.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Harpy Problem
We need to find the remaining survivors of my expedition before the ogres sacrifice them for their dark ritual! I saw one of the survivors being dragged away by some harpies. They have a roost to the north. Kee-La and I will meet you up there with a scouting report.
The storyline at a glance
The Missing Expedition has 70 steps, from Warming Up to Aiding the Dragon Isles.
Maps its steps are placed on (steps per map): Exile's Reach (49), Stormwind City (16), The Great Sea (3), The Waking Shores (2).
