Zombie bear is tameable. There are a few colors of Woodland watcher which are like a druid owl flightform. There is a cave in the river under the waterfall East of the citadel with a bunch of Torrtola that are "Hiding from the necromancy" if you talk to one of them, he can put you in a bubble and send you to the mainland right near the stable master.
