If you miss this, you can come back and get it at any time later on. Just head to the bottom level of the crypt, kill Captain Dargol and you should get the quest item.
While you can kill the Captain Dargol, loot his skull and start the quest while in the post Battle for Lordaeron Tirisfal Glades, you'll have to phase back in time by talking to Zidormi in order to turn the quest in. Coleman Farthing is present in both phases but only in the past, not destroyed one, he has the question mark letting you complete the quest.
