Quest
Uncovering the Orb of Sciallax

I was given a choice of one ilvl 840 relic. Since the data-mined versions are 805s and since they are Bind on Account, I had expected this to be scaling/leveling gear and mailed it to a level 102 alt. Item level stayed 840, required level remained 110.
I assume like other relics these are single-use only, so if you do use it you won't get to mail it to another alt when you grow out of it like previous archeology gear. With how easily relics are acquired from world quests, don't expect this to last long even on a newly leveled character. This may set a new record for bad archeology rewards; at least the toys and pets don't get deleted after you use them for a day.
Really the only upside seems to be that you can complete the quest on (level 110) alts to earn multiple relics if you have masochistic tendencies. With 16 weeks (!) between this archeology quest being offered, maybe they could have made the relic reusable or at least unlock a vendor (currency: crated legion archeology solves?) to let us buy a few of them. As is, the barriers are very high to getting one of these and their usage is very low.
I hoped that these relics would either:
a) become part of the heirloom tab so you could use them on multiple characters after only completing the quest once.
or
b) be usable at level 101.As it stands, an item level 805 relic only usable at 110 is pretty lackluster and will be immediately replaced.
I'm pretty sure WoD archaeology weapons/jewelry was usable at level 91, so why aren't these working for 101?All in all, the archaeology rewards in Legion are pretty lackluster. Expected much more from the way they revamped how rare solves work.

Description
We'll need to hurry before the nightborne realize what we're after. I'm bringing the goblins along in case we run into any obstacles along the way. I've marked the location of the entrance to the chamber the Orb resides in on your map. Meet me there as soon as you're ready and we'll claim this artifact for our own.

Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Narrowing Down
I was right about the nightborne here having objects of great power. I found an ancient text referring to such an object called the Orb of Sciallax.
