TheWoWDBI initially thought I just had to "destroy signs of witchcraft" and didn't realize that killing things also counted until I looked here. It takes forever if you're just destroying paraphernalia since each small item only gives like 2-4% progress, so definitely kill things, too.
The giant statue in the center of town does give a bit more progress credit, so bop that one when you see it, for sure.
