TheWoWDBNew Darkmoon Faire Racing Game added in Patch 6.1:
This is an introductory quest found by the Boardwalk for familiarizing yourself with the Darkmoon Faire Game: Racing. Once that's complete, you're good to complete The Real Race.
In this race, you have to hit a blue, green, and red post, and then return to the Starting area. You can speed up your progress several ways.
◾Pick up sprint boosts, which also let you walk on water (useful for reaching the blue post faster).
◾Jump on bouncy gears to leap forward--make sure you are angled the right way so you don't go off in the wrong direction.
◾Use the special [spell=179748]button, on a 10 second cooldown, to leap to the nearest banner and be immune to electrical wires for a few seconds.
◾Avoid the electrical wires which stun you.
There are achievements for completing the race on one of four special racing mounts--it appears that everyone has the same mount on a particular day.There are prizes for completing the Real Big Race within 20 tolls:
◾Big Powermonger: Gold, for using a [spell=179251], rewards [item=122124]. This shoots you out of a cannon and lets you fly for a minute.
◾Big Wanderluster: Gold, for using a [spell=179256], rewards a [item=122121]. This item is quite similar to Eye of Kilrogg and lets you scout out dangerous areas.
◾Big Rocketeer: Gold, for using a [spell=179252], rewards a [item=122125]. This teaches the battle pet [npc=90345].
◾Big Race Roadhog, for using a [spell=179750], rewards a [item=122128]. This increases mount speed by 30% for 10 minutes.Completing the Real Race within 11 tolls also rewards prizes:
◾ Powermonger: Gold, for using a [spell=179251], rewards a [item=122120]. This puts a Darkmoon Faire marker over someone's head.
◾Wanderluster: Gold, for using a [spell=179256], rewards an [item=122126]. This places down a blinking arrow, similar to the ones used as decorations around the Faire.
◾ Rocketeer: Gold, for using a [spell=179252], rewards an [item=122119]. This is a permanent version of [item=74142], a firework with the Faire logo.
◾ Darkmoon Racer Roadhog, for using a [spell=179750], rewards a [item=122129]. This sets your breath on fire, like many of the Darkmoon Faire NPCs.

For those of you who, like me, have low graphics settings, or simply can't seem to find the "Blue Pole":
It is on top of a rock in the sea near the coast (26.45, 66.73).Tip: use the mount's ability by clicking on one of the banners and then pressing 1.
This jumps you to the banner - useful if you don't want to be wading through the sea. :-)
Anyone know what the minimum level for this is? I have a level 14 alt I just started and the quest doesn't show up. Clicking on Malle she says "I see that you're ready to race! Well step right up and we'll get you started." but there's no quest to start, no race to be had.
One can hope it's just a bug, since the other games have a minimum level requirement of
5 or 6 from what I can remember (even though Wowhead seems to list them all as only requiring level 1)1.

Then, follow the smaller banners until you see a big, blue Post. Hit that, then return here. You're scored on your time, so finish as fast as you can! And watch out for those electrified tripwires.
