A Dark Influence

A Dark Influence is an Alliance-only quest for level 15-30 in Grizzly Hills. It is step 57 of 115 in the Grizzly Hills storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Grizzly Hills at 31.2, 59.5. It rewards 1 reputation reward and 4,100 experience.

Description

When the tree Vordrassil fell, its hollow remains grew roots deep into the ground.

I want you to go north of here to the three locations where the trunk shattered and go as far beneath the ground as you can. You'll find them west of Grizzlemaw.

Use this orb once you get there to get an imprint of the energy surrounding the area. If we're to heal the land, we must first find out what caused Vordrassil to fail as a world tree all those years ago.

The three places you need to go are marked with a cave entrance on the zone map, and are just north of Amberpine Lodge. The heart is the east-most cave, the limb is the middle cave, and the tears is the west most cave. Grizzlemaw (the huge broken tree in the middle of the zone with all the Furblogs) is not where you need to be.

  • The Thane of VoldruneGrizzly Hills · Level 15-30

Now that you've captured the flame-imbued talismans and weakened Voldrune's defenses, we can strike at its leader, Thane Torvald Eriksson. The thane's favorite mount is an unruly proto-drake he calls Flamebringer.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Possible LinkGrizzly Hills · Level 15-30

The furbolgs that live east of here are more aggressive and bestial than the ones we're used to. Our forces have squared off with them more than once, and the survivors always speak of a dark, slimy substance dripping from their corpses.
