Interesting twist on the old theme, "fight your way to the bottom of the crypt, get the treasure, and fight your way out again because everything respawned".

You run in unopposed. When you grab the "?" box, complete the quest, you get the "!" for this quest. As soon as you accept it mobs appear. Two in the basement with you at roughly 10:00 and 2:00, both out of aggro range. You can take them one at a time. From there, fight your way out, and there are more on the ground outside the crypt.

Nice revamp of an old, bad quest mechanic.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Abandoned CryptWestern Plaguelands · Level 15-30

If you truly intend to move forward in this battle for Andorhal... well, perhaps I can help. To the east lies a large crypt. The bottom level of the crypt was once used for storage of weapons and armor... until the Scourge came. Now that the undead have left, the weapons are free for the taking.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Writhing HauntWestern Plaguelands · Level 15-30

The farmers traveled to the Writhing Haunt, an old farm to the northeast, across the river. Someone needs to keep an eye on them. Bring them those rusty weapons and armor you found. We can't have them fighting with pitchforks.
