Didn't get the kill credit, so I submitted a ticket. When that had an average response time of 4 days+, I started looking at alternatives (after dropping the quest and thinking it couldn't be reattained). So here's what you can do if you don't get kill credit on your first attempt:
- Go to the edge of the Temple of Elune, facing the entrance gate to the Black Rook Hold area
- Use the Emerald Winds toy and a slow fall mechanic for safety (Rocfeather Skyhorn Kite for example) and fly to the balcony thing between the two towers of the BRH area entrance gate, where Jarod is hanging out.
- Abandon quest and accept Jarod's daily quest.
- Talk to Jarod and queue up for the scenario.
- Keep your fingers crossed that you get kill credit this time.
Re-running the scenario worked for me and I got kill credit. One thing we noticed with another poor soul is that you need to speak to Jarod before entering the scenario, as that is a requirement for the quest.

Impossible to finish as of now...noone does this, and im stuck on class hall quest for mount :(
If by chance you're dopey like me and end up, ya know not on top of the cliff for one reason or another. Do not drop the quest. Simply fly to Sylvan Falls in Highmountain. From there just above the waterfall is the chick who gives you the toy for completing her challenge. From here you can either use her challenge wings or you can use a goblin glider to float all the way back to Jarod Shadowsong. It's a long way, but it's the only way I found back if you don't have all kinds of toys and knick nacks to get back.

Description
From the very start of these attacks I've felt as though the demons knew our plans, as if they anticipated our every move. If we are to put an end to this we must focus our attacks at the heart of the beast. Your efforts have shown these battles are not won by bravery alone, but willingness and sacrifice. I ask that you stand on the battlefield once more among allies to bring this madness to an end.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
