If you let Broxigar fight, he literally will not die even when he gets to 1 HP. He'll just stay there whitling down Malvingeroth bit by bit until he single handedly kills the pit lord dead.
Living up to the name of Saurfang he is.
This quest is the final one of a chain which starts from Felspawns of Lothros, given by Jarod Shadowsong.

Description
A glorious battle indeed! If I am correct, we can expect something a bit more deadly at any moment. The Legion often uses fodder such as these to prepare the way for a more worthy foe. My axe is sharp and ready.
