No Wings Required (Alliance)

No Wings Required is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-45 in Stormheim. It is step 3 of 12 in The Trial of Will storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Stormheim at 43.7, 68.3. It rewards 775 experience and money.

Description

Now that you've got the launcher, we should be able to infiltrate the city. It looks like there's a good spot to grapple onto on the wall just past us. There's a vantage point on top of this ridge.

Once we're in, I'll try to slip past the guards and get a look at the mountain path. I'd appreciate if you could make some distractions for me. If all goes well, I'll meet up with you in the upper city.

Good luck!

I had an issue with phasing due to turning in the second of the two quests she offers before going over the wall. Since I turned in the second quest, I was able to continue the storyline...but never able to turn in this quest.

There are phasing issues and here is how to make sure not to get the phasing issue...straight from a Bliz GM that is.

"The phasing for this quest can break if you end up finishing "Impalement Insurance" before handing in "No Wings Required". "

So, make sure to turn in "No Wings Required" first and foremost...otherwise get ready to submit a ticket.

I hope this helps someone out and keeps them from breaking the quest like I did on my first run through the zone.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Grapple a DayStormheim · Level 10-45

So these trials are what will get us the Aegis, and the next one is on the top of that mountain? That may prove problematic. The only way I see up the mountain is through that vrykul city, and the gates are shut tight. We should be able to grapple over, though.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • To Weather the StormStormheim · Level 10-45

I've been doing some nosing around, and it looks like these vrykul are making regular trips up the mountain themselves. They've got some specialized gear for it, so while we're here we should take some.
