Also, to make things much easier and much quicker! Remember to hit and hold your right mouse button (right-clicking) to aim at goblin's (Life-Rockets) and pirates (Bombs) each time you want to fire a rocket or bomb. I never got this handy-dandy tip while doing the quest, just happened by it as I was wondering if there was an easier way to do the quest...
Quest
Rocket Rescue
A World of Warcraft quest in Tanaris. Facts and objectives from the current retail game data.
The highest voted Wowhead comments for this page. They are community notes, not TheWoWDB comments.
Seaside Salvage and Puddle Stomping are the prerequisites for this quest.
As of the prepatch it seems this quest is utterly bugged, the bombs do 0 damage, and getting the 40 kills is about as much rng as mount farming in raids...

What to do
Description
When the water came in, Steamwheedle Port to the east was flooded, and a lot of poor goblins are still stuck there! Now those mean pirates are shooting at any boat that leaves the docks here. But they won't expect us to fly! There's a hot air balloon by the docks. We can use that, fly over to rescue the goblins, and take care of the pirates, too. Mr. Noggenfogger will be so pleased! Go to the docks and hop in the balloon and I'll be right behind you, okay? I've got to get some rockets...

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Before this quest

- Puddle Stomping
There's a big problem here! It's great that the ocean came in so far, because now ships can get to Gadgetzan. But now there's a bunch of nasty old sea giants encroaching on the town! I'm sure Mister Noggenfogger would appreciate us taking care of them for him.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Dead Man's Chest
Well gosh, as you can plainly see there's this really big battle with these pirates here going on. We're doing our best to make sure they never bother Gadgetzan or our new gnomish homes there ever again! By killing them. So how about helping us?
