The two north-most pools are the ones that actually have the pincers, the blue area on your map is not very accurate.

Was easy once I went to the northern pools. Did not have problem of them ganging up on me.
Easy battle - the stinging pinchers can be killed by ranged without even going down into the pool.

What to do
Description
There are dangers in the pools. The latest and most vicious are the water pincers. A time has come for their numbers to be diminished, and I am no longer up to the task. If you could clear out some of the water pincers, I would be very appreciative. Beware their numbers... sometimes it's best to lure them from the pool-side rather than wading all the way in.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Sun Pearl
Shu, the spirit of water, is eternally young, as are all the spirits of Shen-zin Su. I have been friends with Shu all of my life, but I no longer have it within me to play with him. I am old, and lack the energy. For all his complexities, Shu is simple to please: he desires friendship.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Shu, the Spirit of Water
Shu, the spirit of water, is sulking in the deep pool to the north. Cross the rocks and then drop the sun pearl in the center of the pool. He will know what this means.
