Be very careful with these! It's not uncommon for 2 or 3 scamps to run around together. If they all decide to attack you and each spawn 2 of their summoned scamps, good night! Tread very carefully and try to attack one that's alone if you can!

You followed Master Shang Xi to this area after beating the Guardian in the previous quest "Worthy of Passing".

You should make sure and pick up the second quest "Small, But Significant" and do this quest at the same time.

The Thornbranch Scamps are both to the north and south in all of the areas where you will be also harvesting the Kun-Pai Ritual Charms for the "Small, But Significant" quest.

One neat trick is when the Thornbranch Scamp is that it will summon two additional scamps. The two additional scamps (of much lower health, 31 health) will appear and start wailing on you. All three together can spank you pretty good, so stay focused on the main scamp and kill him quick. The summon is time based - about 5 seconds was my estimate. The scamps disappear after about 4 seconds.

When you are down to just the two summoned scamps, they are pretty easy to kill one or two hits each - or you can run away and they will dispurse in a few seconds after the scamp who summoned them is dead.

This requires more patience than anything else. Once you receive the quest, you'll see quite a few of the sprites. But don't start attacking just yet. Just stand there in front of the NPC for a bit and look around you.

You'll see several pairs of running sprites. And then, if you look close, you'll see a couple of single sprites, often lounging around on the ground.

Now watch to see the path that the running sprites take. And how long it takes them to complete a circuit.

NOW, look for a single sprite, and WAIT until any running pairs that path by him have gone by. Attack the single sprite. If you are ranged, pull them away from the path of the running pair. If you are melee, attack and then back up out of range of the running pair when they path back around.

The two lesser scamps each one summons when about 1/3 heath are very fragile. Don't worry about killing them. Kill your main target first. The two summoned scamps will die on their own seconds after you finish killing the main target. I often only managed to kill one of them before the other one died on its own.

But the point is that you'll see lots of sprites/scamps and -- if you're a typical WoW player -- you'll just start in on killing. That's a good way to die yourself.

Description

You faced forest sprites in the Dawning Valley, but the forest sprites in this grove are a different breed. Crueler and more dangerous. If you would clear some of these sprites out, the spirits would thank you.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
