It's a little tough to see, but there's a small progress bar where her health bar should be. Looks like a mini XP bar.

Not barraging everything on the map. Not making me lose aggro with her pet.
One of the best hunters I've ever seen.
When you talk to Addie Fizzlebog, she will start following you. She has an experience bar over her head that will fill up as you level her.
You have to level her through the three stages
- Apprentice Training
- Journeyman Training
- Expert Training
in order to complete the quest. The stages auto-complete, so you only have to turn in the quest at the end, when she has finished the Expert stage. There seem to be two ways for her to gain experience while she is following you:
- Resetting the Poorly Set Traps in the area by interacting with them.
- Killing any of the beasts in the area like Skittish Does, Pinerock Elderhorn, Pinerock Stalkers, or Bristlefur Bears.
When you pick up the quests
- Moose Shootin'
- Lion Stalkin'
- Bear Huntin'
from Hemet Nesingwary at the same time as this quest, you should be able to get her to Expert (or close to) just by completing these kill quests.

What to do
Description
Addie's one heck of a writer, but I've never seen her hold a rifle. She's keen on learning how to hunt, but who's ever heard of a gnome hunter? You seem to have a knack dealin' with amateurs, so maybe you'd be willin' to let the gnome tag along on a hunt? She could learn a thing or two by shadowing someone with your skill. Ya best start off with some small game. We don't want the lass to get discouraged.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Amateur Hour
The hunters' lodge has attracted a lot of amateurs who call themselves hunters. They're scarin' away all the prize game with their antics. While I'm a known expert with my rifle, I've yet to manage the art of negotiation.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Bear Huntin'
They say a single hair from the back of a bristlefur bear is sharp enough to cut a dwarf's beard. But if the fur doesn't kill ya, the maul will. Some lesser hunters have been a meal for those bears. Show me you're more than a snack and bring me back a few of those bristlefur pelts.
