For a single, not in group: It's easiest for melee to stand underneath him while attacking, so that his aoe won't hit you. You'll still get flung, but pandaren are "bouncy" so you won't take a lot of damage just from that.

When the first set of adds spawn, you can run away from the ship's area to leave combat and eat/drink if you've been taking a lot of damage or need more mana. Make sure that you don't leave combat after the second set of adds spawns though because it won't give you enough time to heal and make it back before he is killed. Therefore, you won't receive credit for the kill and will have to start the fight over.

I'm going for the Ironman challenge with all classes and sadly I don't know how lame are shammies without specialization. specially because the mana run out with just 4 lightning bolts, 2 shocks and one primal strike. all of this barely enough to kill a lvl 9 tiger and my shammie is lvl 14. if you need heal yourself you must choose.

I do this quest before with few pandaren and was hard so, I was afraid of die but reading the other comment I realize that is not necessary to kill the adds.

so, I enter into the fight, I was worried for Aysa but I see that she couldn't die so forget her and care yourself. just stay behind Vordraka.

I use one flame shock for the DOT and one Earth Shock for the debuff, just in case he turns and hit me or Aysa stop healing herself. when the first pack of mobs appear I run but I couldn't eat or drink so I return and stay hitting in the back just single melee hits (white dmg) and occasionally one shock.

the second pack was tough. I stay hitting just melee, saving the mana for healing surge. stun one of them with the racial and could kill them. I must use healing surge just one time bu I think was the lvl difference which plays in my favor (lvl 9 mobs vs lvl14 me)

the fight extend for 10 minutes so I can say, only 2 pack of mobs attack and Aysa can't die.

so if you are doing the Ironman or just are too low lvl. you can run from the fight for the first pack of mobs, try to handle the second and the rest is just wait to low the hp of Vordraka between you and Aysa, just remember stay behind him. a fight of resistance. :)

For a priest, the best strategy seems to be: just keep your bitty DoT up on Vordraka and stay behind him, then take care of the adds by burning them down. Keep yourself healed, and let Aysa take care of herself, she does fine on her own. First couple of times I did this, I ran out of mana too quickly to be of any real help. This way, I barely got below half. This fight is long, but worry about yourself first, and the Bad Guy will go down soon enough.
