This quest is a callout to the ability of the Alliance Faction on Warcraft 3 to turn their worker units into lightly armed militia units for a short time. The ability is triggered at the town hall, and involves ringing a bell. The workers rush to the town hall, don armour and weapons, and commence beating down anything near your base. Admittedly, they're not very effective, being slightly below regular footmen in terms of performance, but that's still a heck of a lot more useful than unarmed peasents running around getting Squished.

This inn can be found at 57, 58 or for the ones that don't have coordinates at the northern part of Farshire (not in the mine though). Just walk to the upper level and ring the bell. The quest rewards are pretty, and it rewards (if I recall correctly) around 20100 experience.
Rando
If you have Cold Weather Flying (either by having a level 80 character to buy a Tome of Cold Weather Flying, or if you're 77 or above and missed this quest chain), you can fly up to the top of the town hall tower and click the rope from there.

What to do
Description
Farshire has a fighting chance now, {name}. That's all we could've asked for and you've made it possible. All we need now is a rallying point. I'll have my men deliver the weapons to our town hall. Go and ring the town hall bell so any survivors know to rally there. It's time to show the Scourge what we're made of.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Weapons for Farshire
Farshire is overrun and all that Gerald can think of is to get me my ore shipment? I swear that man has as much heart as any of our soldiers on the frontlines. We cannot let the civilians lose their lands if they're willing to fight for them.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Thassarian, My Brother
I recently received word from William Allerton, a family friend, that my brother enlisted here in Valiance Keep on the same day he did. Thing is... my brother's been dead for years. I sold everything I owned to come looking for Thassarian, only to be stonewalled by the local bureaucracy.
