The Hunt is On

The Hunt is On is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-30 in Borean Tundra. It is step 11 of 182 in the Borean Tundra storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Borean Tundra at 58.5, 67.3. It rewards 4 reward items, 1 reputation reward and 4,100 experience. Completing it counts toward 1 achievement.

Description

I've made it my business to learn as much as possible about the vile death cult, including their secret language.

Vurenn was right. The cultists mention disguised operatives in various locations in Valiance Keep: the lower docks, the jail inside the inner hold and in the inn's kitchen.

Take this oculus. Use it at those three locations - anyone that has recently used the cult's necromancy will be enshrouded by a dark aura. Take care of the cultists before something nefarious happens.

use the Oculus of the Exorcist and then speak to each of the following when you are near them.
Tom Hegger is on the lower docks at 58,68.
"Salty" John Thorpe is in the kitchen of the Inn at 59,67.
Guard Mitchells is inside Valiance Keep down in the basement at 57,72. as you enter the Keep, you'll see three iron gates after the first main gate. the one on the left will be open. go down there. Guard Mitchells will be directly on you right at the bottom in the small room.

Quest plays within Valiance Keep, use the orb you got to track them down. This orb gives you a 'buff', and is not an equip able item. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd clarify the best order you can find them (on the route)

  • Cultist in the Docks(2nd)

He can be found at the docks. To be more specific, the docks just behind the gryphon master, walk down the stairs you see there, and you can't miss him.

  • Cultist in the Jail(3rd)

Can be found in the valiance keep, though just at the building at the other side of the ship. If you enter this building, there is a stair that goes to the cellar, it's directly after the open place.

  • Cultist in the Kitchen (1st)

Easiest of all, this one is in the same building as you are, just walk down and go to the 'kitchen'. You'll see him standing there.

'Take care of the cultists before something nefarious happens.'

The category of things which could be defined as 'nefarious' goes up to but does not include three seemingly random and gruesome homicides around Valiance Keep.

I'm afraid this is a matter I must delegate to one of my operatives... someone who can work in secret. Keep the evidence with you and take it to Vindicator Yaala inside the inn. Tell her I sent you and speak of this matter to no one else. We do not know who might be working for the cult.

There's Scourge everywhere, <class>. We've organized the farmers and miners into a militia, but this just won't cut it. The one detachment of troops that Valiance Keep sent is defending the mine. We haven't heard from them in days!
