[item=168950] x5The first time you do this quest items are bind on pickup and won't drop if you already have the specific amount of that item. So if you are not getting drops, check your bags or bank (credits to Illuminati, Kimera666 for this).

This is one of the worst quests I've ever done in this game. Not only do you need a lot of items, but every freaking thing is random. Sometimes you get a ton of springs, but no Assembly. Sometimes assemblies but no springs. Absolute garbage of a quest. On top of that, unless its raining or you kill the rare to make it rain, most of the enemies in the area are elites, or the annoying as all hell Sentries that lightning teleport to you the moment they aggro.
It's like they designed this area as "Hey you all want Classic right? Let's remind you what questing was like back then!"
Don't make the same mistake I made. I had 25 Hardened Springs, 6 Tempered Plating's, and 4 Machined Gear Assemblies. The remaining parts would no longer drop for me from the Corroded enemies. Finally I realized the missing parts were in my bank. 5 Hardened Springs, 4 Tempered Plating's, and 1 Machined Gear Assembly.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Nuts and Bolts of It
I started working on the leg gearing. Most the gearing around here is built from spare parts we find in the scrap heaps. We're going to need a lot of spare parts to fix this thing. See what you can find.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Grease The Wheels
Kerchunk said you guys was working on getting that mechaspider running again. Well I'm not gonna let you have all the fun! That rusty old thing's gonna need a lot of grease to get moving again. So I jury-rigged a special Grease Trap to help you gather grease from the slimes nearby.
