Mistmantle's Revenge

Mistmantle's Revenge is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-30 in Duskwood. It is step 27 of 42 in the Duskwood storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Duskwood at 79.0, 44.2. It rewards 5 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 6,200 experience and money. Completing it counts toward 1 achievement.

Description

I'm afraid I cannot give Tobias the answers he seeks. But I can help you find the only person who can...

Stalvan Mistmantle.

Take the ring into the woods to the north, to Manor Mistmantle, where Stalvan's body was buried. Enter, and hold the ring before you. Let the waning moon pour its light through the ring, and the spirits will answer your call.

Take heed, <name>. The questions of the living can offer more comfort than the answers of the dead.

After you use the ring, the Mistmantle brothers Stalvan and Tobias would face off with each other...

Stalvan Mistmantle says: My ring... Who holds my family ring... Tilloa, is that you?
Tobias Mistmantle says: Brother!
Tobais Mistmantle says: Tell me it's not true, brother. Tell me you didn't die a murderer!
Stalvan Mistmantle says: Tobias...
Stalvan Mistmantle says: It's all true, brother. Every word. You doubted it?
Tobias Mistmantle says: But why? How could you?
Stalvan Mistmantle says: You know why!
Stalvan Mistmantle says: Surely you've felt anger. Anger so foul and vicious that it makes you want to tear someone to shreds...
Tobias Mistmantle yells: No... NO! STOP IT!

<Tobias turns into worgen form>

Stalvan Mistmantle says: Aren't you feeling it right now?
Stalvan Mistmantle says: You see, brother... we're not so different...
Tobias Mistmantle says: No...

<Tobias runs away>

Compared to the old quest chain, this revised one gives more of the backstory of the legend of Stalvan. But a new question is brought up... Was Stalvan already infected with the worgen plague when he committed the murders? Or was he simply a man driven mad by his perceived betrayal by his "love"?
