Roland's Doom

Roland's Doom is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-30 in Duskwood. It is step 24 of 42 in the Duskwood storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Duskwood at 72.5, 46.9. It rewards 6 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 5,150 experience and money.

Description

This isn't all of it...

You should let it go, <name>. The only place left to look is Roland's Doom. That's the mine south of town, and the largest lair of worgen in Duskwood. Nobody in Darkshire has ever made it back from that place alive. In fact, some of the records I have here imply that's where the monsters first came from... who knows what evil's lurking in there?

Please, <name>, just give it up. Let's just forget about this whole thing, and never speak of it again.

At the end of this cave is a mound of dirt that is clickable. when you do click on it it summons a vision of Velinde Starsong who you cannot interact with, but wails and says the following:

Velinde Starsong says: I have failed... I have failed in my duty... failed my people... The worgen run rampant, and the Scythe of my goddess is lost.
Velinde Starsong says: This evil I have unleashed... In whose hand does the power my goddess granted to me now lie... By whose hand is it directed?

Is this her grave?

The area is a reference to the first Fire Emblem game. One of the last levels of the Main campaign is in a catacomb filled with the lost souls of the damned, all who protect a sword wielded by a legendary warrior named Roland. The warrior Velinde used the legendary weapon that could bring forth the Worgen, or cursed druids attempting to harness the power of the weapon known as the Sycthe of Elune, the weapon Velinde carries.

If you're that serious about this, I'll help you, <name>. I know where the other documents must be. I'm just too terrified to do anything about it. There's only a few places that those horrible Nightbane beasts gather when they're not prowling the forest.

You've recovered everything. Everything except the last page... ...which I've got right here. Don't look at me like that. You'll understand when you read it. Some even say it's cursed, you know. In fact, I was relieved when the worgen broke in and made off with these! Take it.
