So you're trying to figure out how to get the new player housing decor item that this quest rewards.

Turns out this quest is part of a massive 53 quest long chain that spans not 1, not 2, but 3 zones! So you will need to do quests in Silverpine Forest, Ruins of Gilneas and Hillsbrad Foothills to eventually get this quest. But the quest chain starts in Silverpine Forest with The Warchief Cometh. So just start there. Also, make sure you're completing the various ancillary side quests that reveal thesmevles as you progress. A lot of the time these quest are also required for the chain to progress even if they're not directly part of the quest chain itself.

Sooo...

This might not be so easy to figure out *where* you are in the questlines... I went through about 10 pages of info on Wowhead trying to figure out what quest I'm supposed to do in order to pick up this or that and do this or that in order to get the decor item. THEN - I decided to look at my ACHs - under QUESTS - and then under SILVERPINE FOREST.

Apparently I have done a lot but stopped on "The Ruins of Gilneas"...
I had to start with the quest: "The Great Escape".

If you look it up - the " ! " is to the right of Northern Headlands on the map but MINE - was actually all the way south below the Tempered Reach along the beach there...

You might have different progress than me - and need to start all this somewhere else but a good place to start your search is the actual "Silverpine Forest Quests" and that will list your progress, and then you can look THAT up to find out exactly where you are in the quest chain and what you need to do NOW.

**some people have stated how long the questlines are and how tedious and is it worth it and all that other crap... If you REALLY have to ask that or say that - maybe you should stop playing World of Warcraft. These questlines, even the super low ones, are really fun even at max level (and funny if you actually read the dialogue) and absolutely worth doing.

Hope this all helps and good luck!

Description

The attacks against our front are a distraction. With our attention turned towards the worgen onslaught, the Alliance has managed to take Pyrewood Village from our occupying forces. <Godfrey hands you a bundle of torches.> It must be purged. With these torches we will burn Pyrewood Village to the ground, leaving only ashes for the enemy to hide behind. Let us not waste another minute. Pyrewood Village is located southwest of the Forsaken Front. Lead us there, {name}.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Lessons in FearSilverpine Forest · Level 5-30

Our enemies are becoming smarter - adapting to our tactics. Recently an attack was made upon Pyrewood Village, southwest of here. Our troops occupying the town were decimated, of course, but what made the attack especially interesting was the racial composition of the attacking force.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • 7th Legion Battle PlansSilverpine Forest · Level 5-30

While destroying Pyrewood will certainly garner us an advantage over the Alliance upon the field of battle, our true purpose here is to leave them crippled. Southwest of here, near the Greymane Wall, lies the 7th Legion Base Camp. We must search the base camp for battle plans.
