Okay. Hold up.
Let me get this straight: Koltira left the Orgrim's Hammer, traveled all the way across Icecrown to the west of Aldur'thar, killed his way through mobs and then spent valuable time installing markers for....me to come along later, and click a Barrier Construction kit? And to be paid gold for this?
If Koltira is going to go through so much trouble in the first place, why didn't he just skip installing the markers and simply put up the barricades himself instead?
*sigh* No wonder they need the players' help to fight the Lich King.
If you're having a hard time finding the orbs try setting your spell detail level to high to make them more visible.

What to do
Description
When our forces begin to move beyond Aldur'thar, they will be vulnerable to attack from the Ironwall Rampart and the broad glacier below. We have neither the time nor the materials to build fortifications, but we can put up some barricades to shield our men from fire and break up Scourge charges. Take this barricade kit to the Valley of Fallen Heroes, on the west side of Aldur'thar. Locate the markers I've placed there and use this kit to construct your barricades there.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
