Slain [npc=134601]
The fight can be relatively hard, especially for melee players, because he spawns lots of tornadoes all over the area and sometimes you just cant get to him.
Vorrik will tank most of the fight? at least this was the case for me.
But the main problem for me was his HP pool. It is just way to much for a quest mob. Can take up to 2 minutes to kill him solo. The Fall of Emperor Korthek quest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUl6DBsODTY

Quest
The Fall of Emperor Korthek
A World of Warcraft quest in Vol'dun. Facts and objectives from the current retail game data.

Make sure you turn in the quest quickly. After 30 seconds or so he respawned and the quest turnin went away, so I had to kill him again.
As of now this quest is extremely buggy. I believe if anyone else is fighting him while you are, it won't show as complete, and everyone is fighting their own version of him that only the player can see. It will not start the ending RP when it's over. You might have to abandon it and do it several times. I gave up after killing him five times.

What to do
Description
Korthek finally approaches. It's been many years since I've faced him in battle. When he first rose to power, I failed my people. I will not falter again. I am prepared to do what must be done. What I should have done long ago. We must kill Korthek and take his key to prevent him, Jakra'zet, or anyone else from ever resurrecting Mythrax. When you are prepared, we will face him together.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Relics of Sethraliss
It may surprise you to learn that the Faithless hoard ancient relics of Sethraliss. I assure you that they do not do so out of reverence or respect, as is proper. Korthek's brood is driven only by greed and an insatiable lust for power.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Sanctuary Under Siege
I fear that Emperor Korthek was not lying when he boasted of his foolish plan. If General Jakra'zet attacked the Sanctuary of the Devoted while we were away, there is a good chance that he now has everything needed to resurrect Mythrax. We must hurry to the Sanctuary and stop Jakra'zet.
