a REALLY badly designed quest and not at all obvious. You get a bar that gets used up fairly quickly (it starts out fully charged) and then drains fairly quickly as it kills mobs. The mobs in this area (as you run around trying to collect the artifacts) respawn extremely quickly, draining the bar to kill them. The bar charges very slowly so you will easily get overwhelmed and killed as the mobs respawn.

The tooltip for the bar says if you run over lightning orbs it will recharge the bar. I've never seen one of these orbs.

edit: I've seen the "orbs", they're like little lightning balls and not easy to see at all. They're sometimes left behind by mobs you kill.

If you started working through the questline to this point and did not finish this quest you will not be able to walk into the Temple of Sethraliss dungeon. There is no instance portal or summoning stone in the phase, despite you being able to be summoned by others. Not a problem when you're doing random dungeons through the Group Finder feature, but you'll be unable to complete Mythics (unless summoned inside?) without completing this questline (ending with The Fall of Emperor Korthek).

What to do

StorylineStorming the Spire, step 11 of 13
Rewards25g 74s, 8,150 XP

Description

It may surprise you to learn that the Faithless hoard ancient relics of Sethraliss. I assure you that they do not do so out of reverence or respect, as is proper. Korthek's brood is driven only by greed and an insatiable lust for power. They rip whatever magic they can from the relics, even if it means destroying them in the process. Rescue the ancient artifacts of Sethraliss in the Sacred Sands nearby. We will honor and preserve them in the Sanctuary of the Devoted.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Infuriating the EmperorVol'dun · Level 30-60

It seems I underestimated Korthek's cowardice. I expected him to be behind the barrier, ready to ambush us. Yet, still he hides. That allows us a few moments to prepare. We musn't waste them. While I siphon power off of these immense crystals, you must thin the numbers of the Faithless here.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Fall of Emperor KorthekVol'dun · Level 30-60

Korthek finally approaches. It's been many years since I've faced him in battle. When he first rose to power, I failed my people. I will not falter again. I am prepared to do what must be done. What I should have done long ago.
