Vengeance From Above

Vengeance From Above is a Horde-only quest for level 30-60 in Vol'dun. It is step 9 of 13 in the Storming the Spire storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Vol'dun at 52.0, 28.7. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 10,200 experience and money.

Description

Emperor Korthek hides deep in his stolen temple below ground. We must create such chaos that he has no choice but to emerge to face us.

The vulpera riot is a good start, but it will not be enough. Alone, they are no match for the Faithless army.

Thankfully, they are not alone.

We will ride the mighty Rakjan through the skies. While you throw lightning bombs, I'll use my charged staff to blast the Faithless armies below.

Let us hope that is enough to lure out Korthek. I am eager to finish this.

Not sure what happened, but while on Vengeance From Above quest I bombed the 60 faithless which triggered the second half of the quest, to destroy the spire barrier, however Rakjan the Unbroken just kept circling over and over again. If this happens just use the return option (#6) and then remount and that should trigger the line up to the barrier and enable the second action button.

So you need to complete the spear quest Forced Grounding near the [npc=129763] (see the table below).
Then you can mount the [npc=129763] and bomb the area.
When you stop in the middle of the Slithering Gulch, bomb the huge seal in front of you

This quest counts to Vorrik's Champion achievement

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Don't Drop It... YetVol'dun · Level 30-60

The Faithless are training pterrordaxes as mounts so that they can rain down death from the skies. Their skycallers have developed a means of storing volatile lightning magic into fragile crystals. Lightning bombs, in the simplest sense. The magic behind it is quite brilliant, really.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Infuriating the EmperorVol'dun · Level 30-60

It seems I underestimated Korthek's cowardice. I expected him to be behind the barrier, ready to ambush us. Yet, still he hides. That allows us a few moments to prepare. We musn't waste them. While I siphon power off of these immense crystals, you must thin the numbers of the Faithless here.
