The Fiend That Failed

The Fiend That Failed is a quest for level 88-90 in Voidstorm. It is step 6 of 10 in the Dance with the Devil storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Voidstorm at 59.1, 56.7. It rewards 16,050 experience and money.

Description

The blade squirms. It is ready for its next transformation.

There is only the leader, Vortensiun, left.

He is known to me. Once, we formed a pact together to defeat a rival. When the time came for him to betray me, he did so clumsily.

I let him live, so I could savor the taste of his regret.

I wonder how well that pain has marinated by now? Let's find out. When the blade is tempered in his essence, it shall grow new power.

It was obvious for me that a mob that is hiding in Nexus-Point Xenas, will be available in Nexus-Point Xenas, so I queued for Nexus-Point Xenas and ran it. At the end of Nexus-Point Xenas - no mob I am after. Queue again?I guess... But just for safety, I wowheaded it and found your comment. Who would have thought that mob in Nexus-Point Xenas is not in Nexus-Point Xenas - but he is in Nexus-Point Xenas. May you always roll +1 higher than the highest roll on the loot you want, you saved me from being stuck there for millenia.

That is every comment on this page.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The UnforgivenVoidstorm · Level 88-90

Since even before our little misadventure, Nexus-Point Xenas has always been the weakest link. The beasts here are stubborn and powerful, always pushing deeper and deeper in. Some domanaar seek to reclaim the Nexus-Point. They are known to me: weaklings, fighting for scraps. Let's ensure they fail.

After this quest

Enjoying the view? The blade is stronger now, but it is not yet complete. A weapon worthy of you deserves nothing less than perfection. But let us relax for a moment. I understand you mortals enjoy a... casual exchange of conversation to get to know each other better.
