I was unable to do this while the world quest "Assault on Thunder Totem" was active, as the gate you need to click to get quest credit fades when I get too close.
Completing the world quest let me complete this quest.

Though this quest is not "technically" bugged SOME may find you CAN NOT click on cage to complete quest and in blizzard infinite wisdom decided to make two "quests" in the same phase zones, I put in ticket for this when i couldn't find anything and got the response of

"I logged in to this quest and went to click and the barricade and Tauren disappear just as I get in range to click the barricade.

What you may not have noticed is the toast for the world quest "Assault on Thunder Totem" appears at the exact moment they disappear. This is because, as unfortunate as this may be, "Assault on Thunder Totem" phases you into a different instance of the area that's allocated for the quest. This area just happens to extend to just in front of the barricade you need to click.

Completing the world quest "Assault on Thunder Totem" or simply waiting until it has expired (time left seen by mousing over the world quest's icon on the map) will allow you to complete this quest."

so as standard totally useless response to their stupidity.

What to do

StorylineRivermane Tribe, step 7 of 13
Rewards20g 22s, 6,150 XP

Description

The drogbar just rounded up those of us that they could and led them to a cave near here. If you act quickly, I think they can still be saved. I know not what purpose they have for capturing our people. I shudder to think of it... in the deep places, the darkness rules.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Flow of the RiverHighmountain · Level 10-45

We can leave Farmer Maya in charge of the farmland now that the greatest threat has been reduced. But we aren't out of hot water just yet, <name>. The fisheries are just as important as our fields, and they are in even greater danger than the farm if what Angler Creel says is true.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Spray and PreyHighmountain · Level 10-45

The Bug Sprayer you recovered from Ormgul the Pestilent seems like it could give us an advantage against the drogbar and their insects. Spray the Drogbar with their own alchemy and watch their insects turn against them.
