Directions Not Included

Directions Not Included is a quest for level 10-52 in Bastion. It is step 2 of 11 in the Chasing a Memory storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Bastion at 57.1, 61.7. It rewards 7,100 experience and money.

Description

Look at this place! What a mess. The Locus is inactive and these "Forsworn" have taken over.

We need to restore the Locus, but I do not know how. This place is not of my design, built long, long ago.

Luckily, the previous Forgelite Prime was prolific. Recorded everything! If we can find her designs, I can certainly work it out. Even without Mnemis's help.

Look around. Plenty of scrolls strewn about. Meet me near the Locus when you find what I need.

Simply collect scrolls until you come across the quest item "Locus Manual".

(Currently on the beta, there seems to be another scroll called "Locus Manual" but it is not the quest item, so if the quest doesn't complete, keep clicking on scrolls until you find the right one.)

To complete this quest you need to find the [item=178046] among discarded scrolls.
There are multiple objects placed over the quest area with different names - Dsuty Scroll Bundle, Tattered Scroll, etc.
You have to loot them until you get [item=178046] among them. I found mine at 55.40 60.55, but I'm sure its just random.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Chasing a MemoryBastion · Level 10-52

The attack on the Temple of Purity is unprecedented in Bastion. At least, to my knowledge. We need to know more. The fragment that the Paragon captured may contain the answers we seek. There is a place nearby called the Mnemonic Locus.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Prime's DirectiveBastion · Level 10-52

All centurion are made to serve the kyrian. That they now work against ME, the Forgelite PRIME, is an insult to all centurions in Bastion. Look at them! Praetors! Goliaths! All... PURPLE! I hereby give you permission and expressly order you to extract their cores.
