On killing Fel'dan, the quest popped up but automatically removed itself from my log when trying to Accept it. Killing Banehollow did nothing, so it wasn't a hidden flag quest either.
Had to hearth instead of backtracking through the entire den as there was no return portal to pick it up from Andalar again. The Wildheart Point portal acts very strangely.
On killing Banehollow, the portal (or any Arcanist NPC) will not spawn if you just sit by his spawn. The portal only appears if you seemingly run across the North-West bridge and back in a short amount of time (as Banehollow respawns in about a mintue).
You have to run nearly all the way to the little wooden hovel and back again for it to spawn, and even that seems to be random. Kiting him to the middle of this bridge gives you some time. After all that? As of 8.1 you cannot click the Wildheart Point portal even if you get it to spawn. There is no Arcanist NPC or anything.
Trying to go across the bridge back to the Felguards has no "no time limitation" portal as mentioned in another comment. Your options after killing this boss are to either hearth and fly back to Jaedenar, or suffering backtracking through the entire hollow.
Going through this quest again on the allied races. Still F'd up after all these years. Can't believe it.

What to do
Description
Only one final power remains lurking in the depths of Shadow Hold now: Lord Banehollow. The Shadow Council here serves his whims, and even Fel'dan was a mere instrument for him to prepare this land for another invasion of the Burning Legion. Proceed carefully, {name}. A dreadlord is a terrifying foe. Stand tall and triumph!

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Shadow Lord Fel'dan
Shadow Lord Fel'dan awaits further in the depths, <name>. His wrath will be unmatched now that you have slain his beloved pets. Even without Moora and Salia at his side, he is a terrible force to be reckoned with. Beware his dark powers; he is nearly more demon than orc by now.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- A Slimy Situation
This poor fellow here barely escaped Bloodvenom Post with his life! If we're going to keep him from turning into a slime creature like all the others, we've got to treat the infection. Mushrooms like to grow near the bright green waters around here, like the pond to the east beneath the falls.
