1. Enter the cave at /way 55.2, 44.4.
2. Keep to the right.
3. After passing Intern Jackie, you'll see a gate with a kobold's skull-masked face thrust through it. (The ? over his head isn't easy to see because of the gate bars.) He's named the [npc=97130] and is the quest turn in.
The kobold's name is [npc=98803]. As an addendum, the devouring darkness that he refers to in his story isn't allegorical--there is actually a rare in that cave that you summon, called Devouring Darkness.

Go talk to the Bluewax Gatekeeper and see if he will let you through to the Candleking. If you can get through by donning the skull, the smell will be worth it.
