Unlikely Allies is a Horde-only quest for level 30-60 in Vol'dun. It is step 1 of 5 in The Three Keepers storyline, the opening step. The quest's turn-in marker is in Vol'dun at 27.2, 53.9. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,100 experience and money.
I believe this is one of the Keepers' keys! Only Vorrik would know for sure.
We need to head to the temple at once.
My pterrordax can take us there when you're ready, but we need to hurry.

I was doing a part of the War Campaign in Tiragarde but my quest log was pretty full so I decided to abandon this quest. As soon as I abandoned it I got teleported back to the quest giver NPC in Vol'dun. Very interesting bug.
First thing you need to do to unlock this is to click the scouting map in Dazaralor in Zuldazar.
I just had the same experience, I am now intentionally not finishing this quest so I have a free portal to Vol'dun whenever I want.

It appears the Faithless broke through our defenses while I was away. They must be after Vorrik's key. It's the only reason they would have taken him alive. Please, <name>. You must secure our leader's safe return.
